| The Lord has blessed First Baptist Church of Asbury Park with a 3-manual pipe organ originally manufactured by
the Reuter Organ Company of Lawrence, Kansas, in 1948. In 2003, it was removed and thoroughly reconditioned by
Foley-Baker, Inc. of Tolland,
Connecticut. Meanwhile, the organ chambers were completely refurbished. The organ was reconstructed, regulated,
and tuned in time for the Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations that year. The present instrument consists of a Great Division, a Swell Division, a Choir Division and a Pedal Division. They are housed in three separate chambers. Altogether there are 21 ranks of pipes. The upgraded console contains new keyboards, new draw knob and tilt table assemblies, a state-of-the-art electronic control system with 99 levels of memory, playback/record, and a number of other new features. | Beth Mugglin has been the regular organist since 1980. She studied for several years under fellow organist Bea
Michalski. Through diligent practice and faithful ministry over the years, she has developed into a skilled artist
whose sensitive renderings bring out the best in the instrument. In a day when many churches no longer have genuine pipe organs or have removed them for lack of someone to play them, FBCAP is blessed to have both a fine instrument and an accomplished organist. If you enjoy hearing great organ music as part of the worship services of the church, come worship with us. |
